All About Mutual of Omaha

This Mutual of Omaha Company was founded in 1909 is an insurance provider situated in Omaha, Nebraska has primarily sold health insurance and disability insurances by providing 95 years of outstanding service to its policyholders. Mutual is probably best-known as the sponsor of the television wildlife program, Wild Kingdom, which perhaps is even better known as Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom. The company is well-known by the word "mutual", which describes its form of ownership, that it has had great problems doing what many other comparably-sized insurers have done in recent years, which is to demutualize and become a stock company which would give its access to capital markets.

Mutual of Omaha offers a variety of supplemental insurance products with capabilities of solicitation through the mail or with telemarketing. Some of the products offered by it include Senior Age Whole Life, Return of Premium Cancer, Cancer, Juvenile Term Life, Accidental Death and Medicare Supplemental insurances. Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company and United of Omaha Life Insurance Company have earned strong ratings from three major rating services: A.M. Best, Moody's and Standard & Poor's. Millions of Americans rely on Mutual of Omaha for their individual insurance and financial services needs.

I always paid the premiums and had a request, and on 8/16/2010 was on hold for 3 hours straight trying to reach customer service, tried the next day was disconnected three times. Finally, the 3rd day, i told them if this was any indication how they paid their claims, I no longer wished them to handle any of my insurance. ON 8/30/2010 I OFFICIALLY CANCELLED MY POLICY AND REQUESTED A CASH SURRENDER. IT IS NOW SEPTEMBER 16, 2010 AND AFTER FOUR E MAILS ONE HAND WRITTEN LETTER AND ANOTHER PHONE CALL, NOTHING HAS BEEN HEARD REGARDING THE ISSUANCE OF A CHECK DUE ME. I THINK THEY ARE IN FINANCIAL DIFFICULTY AND WILL FILE A CLAIM WITH THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DEPATMENT OF INSURANCE AGAINST THEM STAY AWAY..

Have had accident policy from Mutual of Omaha from the time my children were little. My now 20 year old who is still covered was hit in the mouth while playing basketball. This broke the tooth root and in turn has cost $4,000 to date with more work to follow. Turned in the claim in Oct 09 and 4 months later I'm still getting a run around from them. The fact is this was an accident that lead to the tooth dameage. . They have not payed the $2,500.00 per accident to me and trying their best to get out of paying this accident claim. Run don't walk from Mutual Of Omaha.....They have 10 or more years of my premiums and I have nothing in return when due..............

I had the long term disability policy for 14 years. When I became disabled because of a neuro-muscular disease and extreme spinal stenosis they refused my claim. My tests showed nerve damage and I could walk only short distances with a 4 pronged cane. My doctor wrote them letters, but they said I could continue to work full time. When I applied for Social Security Disability, I received it immediatly. I hope the people that refused me will someday suffer like I do..

I switch my bank. Had to inform them 5 different times! this process too 5 months! Then they threaten to close my policy for non payment!! GRRRRRR>> Total disconnection of departments! I can only imagine if I had a claim..
