I had a huge silver filling in a molar which was starting to deteriorate yet Metlife refused to pay for a crown because they felt there was no evidence of extensive loss of tooth structure due to decay or fracture? I never had problems with Aetna Dental but am regretting the switch to Metlife..

Summary

They state there is $2000 worth of orthodontic coverage, but only allowed $600. It should have been over $1000, but they kept saying they did not have all the forms or EOB. They are on the edge of insurance fraud and being reported by this paying member. We have called over 6 times in the last 2 months to resolve this issue and the representatives seem very confused. .

Metlife Dental has been a waste of money for me the past 5+ years. The latest was that I had to have braces for about 4-years, jaw surgery (upper and lower), and 28-crowns. They covered non of the procedures because it was a deformational problem and not an injury. .

What a shame. Metlife Dental Sucks!!!! In my coverage table, it shows that my crown was covered. When I did it, they refused to pay what they should pay, instead they explain that for molar, they only pay cheapest silver filling and crown which most dentists no longer offered. There is a small note (last sentence on the coverage website) mentioning a little bit something, which nobody will notice and understand, even for dentists. They played tricks and they are liars. Shame on Metlife Dental..
